GETTING FROM PARIS TO FONTAINEBLEAU
The easiest way to get to Fontainebleau from Paris is to take a train from the Gare de Lyon. Trains are frequent, departing at least every half an hour at 19 minutes past and 49 minutes past the hour, in the direction of Montargis or Laroche-Migennes. Fontainebleau-Avon is the third stop, after Melun and Bois-le-Roi. Trains usually depart from platforms K-N, and the journey takes around 40 minutes.
GETTING FROM FONTAINEBLEAU-AVON STATION TO THE AIGLE NOIR
From the station (no need to cross the track) take the No. 1 bus in the direction CHÂTEAU/LES LILAS. You can either pay €2 or use a normal Paris Métro ticket. Leave the bus at the ninth stop, CHÂTEAU. The Aigle Noir hotel is two minutes’ walk from the bus stop.
Taxis in Fontainebleau are scarce, and you should not depend on finding one at the station. The walk from the station to the Aigle Noir takes 30 minutes.
